The "Rep Power" underneath your avatar goes up each time you get a like with a thread or post you make.

The "Pips" go up once you reach 50 points total.

To add to somebody's reputation, click on the star symbol below a members post:

Up will pop this:

You can select "I approve" and have the option to comment. Each approved is 10 points, adding to that members reputation, NOT their Rep Power as that is separate. Once you hit 50 points in total, you will automatically receive two pips under your name.

As for when your Rep Power is updated, there is a delay so as soon as you get a like, it will not be instantly added to your Rep Power. There is a delay.

I hope this clears up any confusion you may have!

No problems. Here to help :)

Hey, as a non mod, I don't have the Reputation on my profile tabs, and under Settings I can't see who repped me. However will I survive?

Ah ok, I thought that was for all members. My mistake, let me go back and edit that.

Thanks for explaining the rep system as every forum has a different rep system and how the points work so this guide was very useful.

What is the "pips" thing Haze? And what is the PS Circles that fill up blue underneath your forum name? Also, under my name it says member, how do i change that to something else? I've seen people with different ones and I wanna figure out how to go about getting something other then "Member."

The 'pips' thing is explained in Hazes first post.

The blue PS circles are explained here: http://ps4forum.com/25-annoucements-site-news/5923-added-user-rank-pip-images.html

The regular ranks for which you currently are 'member' also changes are your post count increases. After member is senior member once you reach a certain higher post count and there are more afterwards too.
Topic on that here too: http://ps4forum.com/25-annoucements-site-news/5687-can-anybody-explain-members-system.html
However,if you dont want to stay with the forum default post count rank you can change it to a custom one if you want.Just go to the forum settings tab on top right of the page then edit profile then select 'custom user title'.
