I've never broken one in anger, but I have had one that was technically broken/useless as Dual Shocks had a tendency for the X button to stick. As we all know that X button is like the lynch pin of every game on PS consoles.

Yes, plenty to be honest, two from my Playstation2 and one from the Playstation3.
Sometimes I get a little bit angry, and let's just say that the controllers suffer the most.
Especially when I'm playing with friends, gaming becomes really intense. hahah

Yes i have. There have been games where i was really amped up with the controller and i pressesd on the buttons too hard. Its was crazy but hey i always found a way to reaplce the broken controllers for cheap anyway.

I've never broken one by throwing it. You know those people that get so frustrated when they lose and toss it across the room? Yeah, no, never me.

Buuuuuttt....I have spilled beer on one.

I think I've never purposely broken one.

But that doesn't mean my dog hasn't. He really loved to chew wires and other things like that. All it took was to leave a controller out, and there goes any chance of playing for a week. I only had about two controllers in the house at any time for my PS2, just so the chances of losing them to my dog would be slimmer. I would also buy the cheapest controllers I could from Gamestop just so that there wasn't as much loss when they were (inevitably) torn to bits.

Ugh the sticky button is one of the worst problems in gaming. I find this to be a huge problems on old Gamecube controllers. The A button sticks all the time. It is the worst.

I'm proud to say that I've never. Even the cheap aftermarket controllers I've bought have held up pretty well, and they took plenty of abuse. They're probably still in a drawer somewhere.

Yep... I broke like 2 or maybe 3 in my whole life... I had really bad anger issues, but that's what I get for having really severe ADHD. I would throw my controller at the TV (they were tube tv's back then), but they wouldn't break, but after doing it multiple times, they broke... I've matured a lot since I was little. Sometimes, I did trip on the cord though or accidentally drop them. I have one that the one of the analogs are messed up but the controller itself still works and I can still use the D-Pad on it.

I did have one Xbox controller (the original Xbox) that was white and I ate Cheetos one time and I couldn't get it off the controller and the wire got a loose connection and it would work sometimes, but years later, all of it came off and it still does it, and I still have it... I actually have all the controllers I broke. Another controller I have is really sticky and still works and I use it for my PSX and PS2 and another one that the wire is hanging out on it (these are PSOne controllers, the really bright white ones), but it still works. Actually, I think all of them work, but they just act funny sometimes. I don't think I have 'broke' a controller that actually does not work and respond before.

I've never broken a controller on either my PS1 or PS2. I had one (can't remember what system) where one become a bit 'creaky' around the seam and the 'X' button needed to be pushed hard but it still worked. That's been about it… I've never had a total failure. Back in those days you used to get two controllers as standard (a gripe I have with both the PS3 & 4...why get only one?) so it was simply a case of swapping over once it got annoying enough.

I'm still using my original and only controller I got with my PS3. The stainless steel connecting tip bit of the wire, that goes into the controller to control it, is starting to show signs of pitting but that's about it. The controller itself is pretty much as good as new.

Quality wise, they've really stood up to some serious use over the years, including occasionally dropping them and I’m being nit picky. Sony do build them very well indeed. I've got no issue with them at all.

I did once have a wheel and pedals (I can't for the life of me remember what model it was - it wasn't an official one) for my racing games which did eventually go wrong. The spring out of the throttle snapped and the pedal just flopped to the deck. I used to have to hook my toes around the very top of the pedal to control it again! Being a cheap-skate I done this for many months until I got the PS3 where it was no longer compatible.

I've broken an original Dualshock while moving a couch. Sometime later I broke a PS1 when I got upset and pulled the controller. Everything fell except for the TV.
You all forgot about me! I used be your mascot!

heh, only controller I broke was on my PS3 - playing BF3 during multiplayer, one of the buttons was a bit dodgy anyway. Lol I`ve calmed down since then since I had to buy another one. BF4 and Ghosts does annoy me sometimes on PS4 but if they do I go play something else... also the 60 price tag for a new controller says it all!

Never broke a controller through anger. I've had a couple of dodgy hardware faults with a few PS controllers though for the PS2

Yeah. I'm ashamed to say I've broken controllers. Sometimes through wear and tear in the old days of Genesis and PSX but I have broken a PS2 controller and 2 PS3 controllers. Though I've gotten very good at fixing controllers. I had always fixed my PS3 controllers. My main one worked fine until it finally wore out. I'm not using another PS3 controller I repaired

Well I've done that before with a PS1. Thank goodness Sony actually made those durable enough.

I've never just thrown or broken a controller, but I used to chew on the cord during intense moments or when I was getting frustrated and would fray that part. Plenty of my old controllers have tape around the cord.

I'm embarrassed to say I have. It was back on the PS1 with the original Tomb Raider. I can't remember exactly what happened to cause me to do it but the end result was me grasping the controller so tight in my hands and twisting in opposite directions that I actually cracked it in half. Games used to make me really quick to anger but thankfully I've got over that as I've grown up.

Nothing to be ashamed of. The PS1 controllers were subjected to plenty of abuse. They weren't the most durable of the Dualshock family, but it earned its stripes.

I did break controllers when I was a kid. I was immature and like to throw tantrums, I also didn't know or appreciate the meaning of value. I tend to get angry at games very easily then so each time I rage quit, I'll throw the controller onto the floor. Did that multiple times and one time the controller finally broke. Good thing was that there were 3rd party controllers that were cheap, I bought a new one for just $15. Now that I'm all grown up, breaking controllers no longer is in my dictionary.

All of my PlayStation controllers have been nothing but good to me. My GameCube controllers, however, were not so lucky. Wore down the analog sticks to a nub.

Did your house just have a bad luck radius for controllers and consoles?

Razor's house was one continuous Final Destination screening for consoles.
