For me, with any console, it comes down to whether or not there's a variety of games I actually want to play. And with the Vita, there just isn't enough there to entice me. You can justify the price of anything if the product you're getting is worth it to you. Personally, I've been extremely happy with basically every aspect of the 3DS

I'm not a big fan of handheld games. That's the only thing holding me back, to be honest. I might try one if one of my friend's picks one up, but I won't spend the money just for a game of chance.

The western games all end up being shooters and ports, though.

Yeah and??? Right now we're bombarded with niche Japanese games which are very similar to each other in game play. I would be perfectly content with side stories to popular franchises on the home console, like we were getting with Resistance, Uncharted, COD, Assassin's Creed, Killzone.

That's what I figured the Vita would be from launch.

I'm just not into the handheld gaming anymore. It was fun when I first started playing but I have move up and onward.

I have the two Star Ocean remakes for the PSP, and after learning that the Vita is not reverse compatible with PSP UMD's, I decided to keep my PSP and have abandoned plans to get a PS Vita. It may actually be a blessing in disguise that I did not get a Vita after all, since I have lost interest in gaming these days.

Most people would agree with me that the Vita just doesn't have enough games to provide a successful handheld system.
