    My concerns with the Vita:

    1) The whopping Price
    2) No games

    and finally

    3) Better alternatives, aka the 3DS!

The Vita doesn't have huge quantities of games but what there is is pretty good. Unless you mean "no games that interest me".

So it is mostly the price? I guess that could be a problem, but honestly my thoughts were that all things considered it made since. I mean it was like buying both an individual system as well as an add-on to the PS3. I also feel like there is a lot of potential for this system and that is what I invested in. The real problem for me is that they brought this out at a time when they were really more focused on the PS4 than their handhelds.

I just don't like handheld gaming anymore. I find only it appropriate when you're long distance traveling. Apart from that, you're better off playing on console or even PC. Whenever I play when out of the house, it's on my phone. I enjoy playing apps as much as playing on a handheld device.

Money. Cheaper mobile/handheld gaming is widely accessible. Plus even if I'm saving up enough money for a gaming purchase it's going to be a home console.

I have no need for a vita. My tablet and phone have great games that keep me entertained while on the move.

I would have to say that the reason why I wouldn't get a Vita is because I don't think I'd want an additional hand held outside of my phone for mobile experiences. With that said, there is a difference between gaming on a device built for gaming and gaming on a phone. The money that I do have usually goes to PC or Console gaming and those areas would also suffer if I just stopped gaming one of them and put money into a hand held. I appreciate what the PS4 is going to do with Vita functionality and how it will be used but until I actually see it working I'm skeptical that it will work.

I don't need a Vita right now as I am mainly a PC Gamer right now. But I will by it now as there are some really intriguing features with PS4.

For the record I can honestly say that mobile gaming is not nearly the same thing as what the Vita or the 3DS are giving you. It's the difference between a straight to video film and a smaller, well-done indie film. That said I like having a game or two on my phone, but that's only an occasional time-wasting bit of fluff. Then again I guess my priorities might be different - chronic bus-riding syndrome.

One word. Parents. I would buy the vita in a blink of an eye if I could, but my parents are not fans of video gaming. They believe that it'll only prove as a distraction for me and my studies. Since I still live under their roof, I will have to respect their decision.

If I had to pick one reason, it would be games. Yeah there is the price and everything, but at the end of the day, if it had games that I wanted, I would invest the money in it. As of now, I prefer to spend money on my 3DS.

If the Remote Play function was as crappy as the PSP was. That's a huge selling point for me right now. I have a ton of games for the Vita thanks to PS Plus, but RP is really important. Especially with PlayStation Now coming in the future.

Let's be honest here. A big selling point-if not the only one-for the original PSP was the ability to crack it. If you look at the sales for the PSP versus how many games sold, you can tell this pretty easily. What's holding the Vita back is that it is a lot harder to crack open and play with. And that it really needs an improvement in the game library to make it worthwhile.

I'm not that big into portable gaming and I think that overall the DS and 3DS ecossystem has more games that appeal to my interests. PS Vita often feels like a portable PS3/PS4 and I prefer to play PS3/PS4 games in a large screen. When I'm on the go I prefer other kinds of experiences.

This. So much of what is wrong with the Vita is down to the price. That and the fact that it has very few games at the moment.

Really, this is true. I don't even think the hardware or the games themselves are overpriced (aren't Vita games the same price as 3DS, even less if you consider how many digital-only games there are with constant sales?) but the cards are ridiculous and necessary.

If Sony hadn't screwed the pricing of the cards so hard then the Vita would be a lot more popular.

I'm pretty sure the Vita is quite a bit more expensive than the 3DS, although it has been a while since I checked out the pricing so it could have dropped by now. But yeah it's a lot down to the cards.

I had Vita for almost a year and I couldn't find a single game that I would play for more than an hour. The only thing I played was FF7 (I just couldn't miss a chance to play it again, even though I finished that game million times).

I may be wrong here, but aren't Sony the sole producer of the cards you have to use for the Vita?

Those cards are like the plague for the Vita. If the prices were better they would be somewhat more desirable. I'm not saying they would be flying off the shelves, but they're not moving like they should because you need those cards.

Price, lack of games that really interest me that are not on other consoles already, and my own lack of mostly frivolous spending money at the moment.

I really think that the lack of games is on the basis of studios throwing that hat in with the PS3 and PS4 and it's like "That should be enough, you want us to do Vita too?"

Although i can't say i use my Vita that much, i have to say i'm SOOO pleased i got one in the end.

Lets start off with Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush and Killzone Mercenary. Until you see for yourself just how incredible a portable device can be playing these games you will always be a little sceptical.

Then add to that the huge amount of free games on PS Plus. Over the last few months i've got Lego lord of the rings, Soul Sacrifce, Motogp13, Guacamali, Unit 13, some hack and slash games and more for free.

In short i'm getting games for free and actually finding some of them more fun to play than some console games. At the moment i'm enjoying Moto GP 13 on my vita more than i am GT6 on the PS3 for example, simply because of the accessability of the game.

Then there's the technical side of things. Great comms, great apps ( wake up club is super ) HD films from the store.

It's a stunning bit of kit to be honest. If your unsure, find someone who has one and have a look at what it can do and i guarentee you'll be interested.
